Police Identify Driver Killed Sunday in Crash on Route 38

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford Focus is identified as Kelly Morsch, 23, of Hinckley.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on Route 38.

The driver, and sole occupant, of the Ford Focus that crossed the center line and struck a BMS SUV was Kelly Morsch, 23, of Hinckley.

The driver of the SUV, who was airlifted Sunday to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, was Christopher McTee, 40, of Schaumburg. "His injuries do not appear to be life threatening," said Sheriff's Office spokesman Patrick Gengler in a Monday-morning press release.

A passenger in the SUV, List Mctee, 32, of Schaumburg, was transported by ambulance Sunday to Delnor Hospital in Geneva with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff's Office and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the two-car crash that occurred at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, on Route 38 west of Meredith Road.

The initial investigation indicates that the 2012 Ford Focus driven by Morsch was traveling east on Route 38 west of Meredith Road and
for an unknown reason crossed over the center line and struck the 2007 BMW SUV driven by McTee that was traveling west on Route 38.

No tickets have been issued.
