Police Catch 3 for Mailbox Damage Spree, Intoxication

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Geneva police made one arrest and handed out several citations to three young men they say were responsible for a mailbox-damage spree on Geneva's West Side.

Police arrested Brett Boulden, 19, of Geneva on charges of criminal damage to property after he "knowingly damaged mailboxes" at residences in the 1400 block of Pinto Court, the 1400 block of Eagle Brook Drive and the 1500 block of Eagle Brook Drive in Geneva, Geneva police records show.

Boulden and two other youths were cited for Geneva ordinance violations Boulden and Phillip Vanberkum 18, were cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor, which carries a fine of $250 if paid before due date.

Thomas Sandman, 21, of Geneva was cited for disorderly conduct and public intoxication, each carrying a fine of $50. The young men were apprehended at around 1:42 a.m. May 6 in the 1500 block of Western Avenue, reports said.
