Police Blotter: Violations of Cannabis Control Act and Disorderly Conduct Charges

Violation of Controlled Substance Act—Geneva police arrested John Griffin, 53, of Geneva on charges of violation of the Controlled Substance Cct and cited him for public intoxication around 2:30 a.m. June 14 on a sidewalk in the 600 block of East State Street, reports said. Police observed Griffin “staggering from side to side” walking east on the sidewalk in the 400 block of East State Street at around 2:18 a.m., reports said. Police also observed several items falling out of his pocket. When they stopped him, they found a folded-up $1 bill on the ground, then found a small plastic bag containing an unspecified substance near the rear tire of the squad car.
Violaiton of Cannabis Control Act—Geneva police arrested Colton Harris, 22, of Geneva on charges of possession of cannabis at around 1:46 a.m. June 22 on a public sidewalk, reports said. According to the complaint with the 16th Circuit Court, Harris had about 1.5 grams of marijuana in his possession. Harris has a court date of July 17 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Disorderly Conduct—Geneva police cited Kevin Gancarz, 19, of Sugar Grove for disorderly conduct between 6:50 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. June 18 in the 700 block of Anderson Boulevard, reports said. The citation carries of fine of $50 if paid before its due date.
Disorderly Conduct—Geneva police cited Frank DeMichel, 37, of Geneva for disorderly conduct at around 9:41 p.m. June 16 in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Nebraska Street, reports said. The citation carries a fine of $50 if paid before the due date.
