Police Blotter: CRV Hits Bicyclist at Anderson Boulevard

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Charges of disobeying a traffic control device follow a July 19 accident involving a car and a bicyclist, according to an accident report collected from the Geneva police blotter Tuesday, July 30, 2013.

The front of a Honda CRV driven by Donna Peavy, 65, of St. Charles collided with the side of a Nishiki Blazer bicycle driven by Mary O’Connor, 50, of Geneva around 11 a.m. July 19 at the intersection of Anderson Boulevard and West State Street, reports said.

According to reports, Peavy’s Honda was attempting to turn right from Anderson Boulevard onto westbound State Street when O’Connor was riding her bicycle crossing the street from sidewalk to sidewalk.

Peavy was charged with disobeying a traffic control device and has a court date of Aug. 13.

The report was categorized as an accident with injuries.
