Plenty of Geneva Accidents in January—So Far

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here's a roundup of accidents collected from Geneva Police Department reports during the month of January.

Accident at East Side Drive and Division Street—The front of a Toyota Prius driven by Linda Vasconi, 45, of Hubbard, OH, collided with the front of a Jeep Liberty driven by Maria Figeuiredo-Fatima, 55, of Geneva around 10:55 a.m. Jan. 14 at the intersection of East Side Drive and Division Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle and a tow was necessary after the crash. Vasconi was issued a warning notice for failure to yield at an intersection.

Accident at Keslinger Road and Peck Road—The passenger side of a Ford Taurus driven by Lorenzo Formosa, 48, of Geneva collided with the front of a Dodge Caravan driven by Ralph Bargman, 62, of Geneva around 1 p.m. Jan. 15 at the intersection of Keslinger and Peck roads, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Formosa was issued a warning notice for failure to yield turning left.

Accident on West State Street—The front of a Dodge Avenger driven by Shane Jones, 18, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Honda Accord driven by Linda Fisher, 51, of Geneva around 12:20 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 600 block of West State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident in Geneva Commons Parking Lot—The passenger side of a Ford Econoline E150 driven by Jeanette Aquino, 29, of Huntley collided with the front of a Nissan Sentra driven by Megan Byrne, 22, of Geneva around 1:48 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Geneva Commons parking area, 600 N. Randall Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

One-Vehicle Accident—A Jeep Wrangler driven by Brett Landrum, 18, of Geneva struck the Panera Bread building at 1492 S. Randall Road, breaking two window panes around 8:44 p.m. Jan. 21, reports said. The estimate to repair the window damage was not included in the police report, but it did say that between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one person’s vehicle or property.

Accident on East State Street—The front of a Dodge Stratus driven by Kelsey Gruden, 18, of St. Charles collided with the rear of a Toyota Corolla driven by Alyssa McCool, 33, of Geneva around 3:40 p.m. Jan. 2 in the 0-99 block of East State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.  Both drivers refused medical attention. Gruden was issued a warning notice for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Accident with Injuries at Fargo Boulevard and Batavia Avenue—The front of a Hyundai Accent driven by Margo Pfetzer, 16, of Geneva collided with the front of a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Luis Garcia, 39, of North Aurora around 5 p.m. Jan. 11 at the intersection of Fargo Boulevard and Batavia Avenue, reports said. Both drivers were taken to Delnor Hospital. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Pfetzer was charged with failure to yield at an intersection and has a court date of March 5, reports said.

Accident at Keslinger Road and Lark Street—The front of a Toyota Avalon driven by Carol Attig, 66, of Batavia collided with the front of a Dodge Caravan driven by Mara Ristori Cabiechioli, 65, of Geneva around 10:15 a.m. Jan. 10 at the intersection of Keslinger Road and Lark Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Attig was charged with failure to yield entering a highway from a private road or driveway.

Accident With Injuries at South Kirk Road and East Fabyan Parkway—The front o a Nissan Maxima driven by Alexander Chernikov, 69, of Glendale Heights collided with the front of a Saturn L300 driven by David Rogers, 48, of St. Charles around 4 p.m. Jan. 8 at the intersection of South Kirk Road and East Fabyan Parkway, reports said. Both drivers were taken to Delnor Hospital by Medic 52. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Chernikov was charged with failure to yield turning left and has a court date of Feb. 19.

Accident with Injuries or Tow on South Randall Road—The front of an Eagle Summit driven by Gregory Perrin, 19, of Aurora collided with the rear of a BMW 750 LI driven by Jerman Schamberger III, 48, of Geneva around 5:05 p.m. Jan. 2 in the 2000 block of South Randall Road about 300 feet south of Gleneagle Drive, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Schamberger complained of neck pain but refused treatment after the crash. Perrin was issued a warning for following too closely.

Accident at South Street and South Second Street—The passenger’s side of a Saturn SLI driven by Timur Duehr, 23, of Batavia collided with the front of a Buick Verano driven by Lila Honey, 31, of Geneva around 7:46a.m. Jan. 7 at the intersection of South Street and South Second Street, reports said.  More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Duehr was issued a warning notice for failure to yield at an intersection and Honey was issued a warning notice for driving with an expired license.

Three-Car Accident With Injuries—The front of a Pontaic Torreent driven by Jennifer Smith, 29, of Waterman, IL, collided with the rear of a Ford Contour driven by Hannah Busch, 19, of Elburn, which collided with the rear of a Ford Expedition driven by Edward Mills, 43, of Geneva around 12:30 p.m. Dec. 31 in the 1400 block of South Randall Road about 75 feet south of Fargo Boulevard, reports said. Busch was taken from the scene by Medic 251. Smith was charged with following too closely and has a court date of Feb. 12, reports said.
