Patient's Purse Swiped During CAT Scan at Christ Hospital

Patient's debit card used at area stores. Hospital security has no record of theft reported by mystery hospital public safety officer.

A 57-year-old patient’s purse was stolen while she was getting a CAT scan at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Oak Lawn police said the patient had left her room for the procedure around 9 a.m. Nov. 13. Before she left, she placed her purse inside the drawer of the bedside table.

When she returned from the test around noon, she noticed her purse was missing. The patient called a nurse to tell her what happened. As she and the nurse were talking, an Advocate public safety officer came in the room to say he had found the patient’s purse in a restroom near the elevators on another floor.

Police said the patient went through her purse and found her debit and credit cards and two rings to be missing.

The nurse told the patient to file a police report with the Oak Lawn police. The hospital public safety officer told the patient he’d be back the next day to file a report.

As the patient was on the phone canceling her credit cards, her bank called to say that her debit card had been used at the Bedford Park Target and several other stores.

The hospital also had no record of a public safety officer visiting a patient, nor was the purse theft reported to security.

Hey look! Another Oak Lawn racist! I'm so proud of my town. You don't shop at the Oak Lawn Target, do you? Allow me to repeat myself... Stores don't ask for id because the card companies tell them not to. Also, the stores get their money no matter what, so they don't care. And speaking of hoods, did you wash your's for this weekends cross burning?

And it has nothing to do with asking for id....everytime I swipe my credit card it prints out a receipt as long as it's under a certain amount set by credit card company.....it never leaves my hands, and if they seen her address while taking her cards they can use her zip to max everyone out on gas in the HOOD.....and I didn't give a color for the theif.....so even if I am or was being racist I didn't give a race to be angry at.....remember whites are the new minority....anyone else in the peanut gallery care to comment....

I VERY STRONGLY AGREE WITH " AGGREVATE" The government does not want to make it a law to put pictures on anything like link, WIC,or credit cards because they have their hand in it.

Oh yes but not if they get the assistance from knowing someone at another Target to use a stolen card.
