Oswego Man Arrested in Geneva for Following Fire Truck Too Closely

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

There isn't a whole lot of information with this police blotter item, but it's unusual—the first one of its kind I recall seeing in the past year-and-a-half of collections from the Geneva Police Department.

The lesson for the rest of us is that the law is there for a reason, and you will be arrested if you don't yield to an emergency vehicle.

Reckless Driving—Geneva police cited Mark Crawford, 43, of Oswego for following fire apparatus illegally and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle around 9:10 a.m. Feb. 8 in the 1000 block of South Randal Road near Keslinger Road, reports said. Crawford has a court date of 9 a.m. March 6 at Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road.
