Benzos, like Xanax and Ativan Klonopin are used to enhance alcohol and opiates. Their combination use is an epidemic and a nightmare to detox from. Users are operating in a black out state and some prettyhorrificc crimes and accidents result in their use. Doctors who prescribe this medication used as short term treatment for anxiety need to remember the words "SHORT TERM". Primary care physicians as well as psychiatrists are to blame for this epidemic they are writing prescriptions like this stuff was candy. Detoxing from benzo's is more serious than detox from alcohol. Seizure risk exist 2 weeks after use, and physical recovering lasts for months. Every impaired driver needs to be blood tested because prescription drug abuse is soprevalentt, as well as illicit drugs.
