OMG PD: Poop Flinger, Creepy Texter, Stubborn Guest

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

NAPERVILLE

Creepy Texter

Someone on Feb. 21 received text messages from unknown numbers which read: "I SEE YOU" and "IM COMING FOR YOU," in the 1400 block of Culpepper Drive, police said. The messages were texted to the phone via Internet.

Edvinas Korotkevic, 29, was arrested at 7:16 a.m. Feb. 18 at the Naperville Marriott in the 1800 block of North Naper Boulevard, police said. Korotkevic, a guest of the hotel, was allegedly drunk when he came down to the lobby and threatened to throw a smoothie in a clerk's face. The guest refused to leave after being asked by hotel management and was later arrested by police for disorderly conduct and trespassing, police said. He posted bond.

ST. CHARLES

Repeat Offender

Robin A. Appelhans, 52, of the 100 block of Lakeside Drive, was charged at 5:23 p.m. Feb. 19 with retail theft at , St. Charles.

According to the report, a loss-prevention officer said Appelhans was seen on Feb. 7 entering a dressing room with a box containing a $150 coffee maker. When she left the dressing room, she then placed the box back on the shelf and left the store.

Loss-prevention personnel checked the box and learned it was empty, but Appelhans already had left the store. At 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, loss-prevention personnel saw Appelhans return to the store and take several items of clothing into a dressing room. After she left, a loss-prevention officer entered the dressing room and found some price tags that had been removed from some swimwear. Appelhans was followed out of the store and stopped.

The report stated she had in her purse two pairs of swim pants and a swim coverall with a combined value of $118. The total loss was reported as $275.99. She posted $150 and was released pending an April 4 court appearance.

Smear Campaign

Glenn A. Franklin, 50, of the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue, Big Rock, was charged at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 16 at , with disorderly conduct after police received a report of a man smearing feces on a building in the 800 block of West Main Street. Police said there has been an ongoing dispute between workers at the store and nearby property owners about dog feces in the parkway. The property owner who reported the incident said he had a security camera installed as a result of the dispute, and video showed Franklin using a hockey stick to flick dog feces into his yard, and that some struck his building.

GENEVA

Getting Student Credit

A credit card taken from a student's missing coin purse was used to purchase gasoline at two Geneva gas stations, Geneva police reports said.

A neighbor called a Geneva mom to say she found her daughter's purse at around 8:30 a.m. Feb. 12. The neighbor later told police she had found the purse while she was walking on Glengarry Drive. A cosmology card had been left in the purse, which was how the neighbor knew who it belonged to.

The Geneva mom initially thought her daughter had left the purse on top of their car and lost it when they drove off. But later that day, the mom was notified by her bank that there were unauthorized transactions on her credit card.

At around 3 p.m., the mom e-mailed the Geneva Police Department saying her daughter remembered leaving the purse inside their vehicle at around 6 p.m. Feb. 11, when the vehicle was parked in the driveway of their home in the 1100 block of Brentwood Place.

The mom discovered that someone had removed several items from the coin purse, including two credit cards, a debit card, a $30 gift card, a driver’s license, a school ID and about $30 in cash. At around 3:40 p.m., she e-mailed police with a list of transactions made on the card. Two of the transactions were from Fuller’s gas station and another from Geneva Shell. The police report categorized the crime as a burglary.

Where's My Sector 9 Longboard?

Someone took a Sector 9 longboard and a snowboard from a garage in the 700 block of Maple Lane sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 10, Geneva police reports said. The long board was maple wood color and was valued at $150. The World Industry snowboard was valued at $300, according to reports.

Where's My Baggalinni?

Someone took a Baggalinni black leather purse containing a cell phone and other items from an unlocked Chevrolet Equinox parked at a shopping center lot in the 1400 block of Randall Road sometime between 1:40 p.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 4, Geneva police reports said. The total value of the stolen items was unknown at the time of the report.
