OMG PD: Grey Goosed, Empty Threats, One Man Crime Spree
A round up of some of the more bizarre and interesting police blotter items from around the area.
Batavia
A man admitted to police that he behaved inappropriately after telling a young employee to kill himself outside a downtown Batavia business. The employee was handling parking and saw the man head in the wrong direction in the lot. The man said "he didn't have to listen to a kid, told him to 'kill himself,' then peeled out of the parking area," according to a police report.

The reporting officer spoke to the man at 7:14 p.m Sept. 22. He said he didn't know the young man was an employee, as he wasn't wearing anything that identified him as an employee of the business. The man said there would be no further problems.

Two men took three bottles of Grey Goose vodka from a business on the 100 block of South Randall Road, a store official reported at 11:01 a.m Sept. 22. The theft occurred on Sept. 21 at 9:23 p.m. The men removed the security caps, left the store and got into a small, four-door sedan. The official will sign complaints if the men are caught. The value of the vodka is $75.

I’ll Huff and I’ll Puff and I’ll Blow Your House Up?
An Elmhurst resident received a call from a man stating he was from Readers Digest at 10 a.m. Sept. 19. The caller told the resident he had won a Mercedes and $8.5 million, and that he should go to CVS Pharmacy and buy two separate "money Pack Refill Cards" for $500 each to give to the man who will deliver the car. The complainant said he would not do that and ended the call. At 3 p.m. Sept. 21, the suspect called again and the complainant told him he knew this was a scam and he was going to call the FBI. The suspect then said, "Maybe I should blow up your house." Officers were unable to contact the suspect.
Geneva
Three Time’s the Charm for Thief
A Hickory Hills teen was arrested, not once, not twice, but three times within one week, according to police reports. Zachery Duncan, 18, of Hickory Hills, was charged the first time for retail theft after an incident at around 2:12 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Geneva Ace Hardware, 617 W. State St. Duncan took a Resolve 12-piece outdoor multi-tool from the store. The multi-tool had a total value of less than $300.
Then, later in the day Sept. 14 at around 3:39 p.m, Geneva police arrested Duncan on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia in the 500 block of Edison Street, reports said. Duncan was said to be in possession of three metal and ceramic smoking pipes.
Meanwhile, St. Charles police reported Duncan, was charged with retail theft at 5:18 p.m. Sept. 21, at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road. According to the report, Duncan took a Daisy Air Pellet Rifle and pellets, a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce, two cans of Hormel chili, an energy drink and a package of Funyons, with a combined value of $61.84.

Police said someone reported a theft at 6 p.m. at Surrey Park, Surrey Drive and Briar Street. Someone reported an iPod Touch was stolen after it was left sittong on a park bench at the park. The value of the iPod Touch was about $200.
