North Aurora Man Dies Following Motorcycle Crash

Steve Wenger of North Aurora died on July 1 at an area hospital.

A 50-year-old North Aurora man died on July 1 of injuries sustained during a two-motorcycle crash on Route 64 in Virgil on June 25, according to Suburban Life Publications. 

Steven Wenger was riding with another motorcyclist, Timothy Corbitt, 55, of Elburn, when the collision happened on Route 64 just west of Meredith Road at 5:10 p.m., according to the Kane County Chronicle.

Corbitt was treated and released at the scene and received a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, the Kane County Chronicle reports. 

Wenger was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to the Daily Herald. Neither of the motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Wenger enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle, according to his obituary

A visitation will be held at Laird Funeral Home in Elgin on July 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 8 p.m. following the visitation, according to his obituary.
