2 Men Shot Survive, At Least 1 Handgun Used

The two men were each taken to the hospital. Police are in search of their shooters.

The two people shot during Tuesday's home invasion in North Aurora survived, police said.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the arm and another man, 23, was shot in the chest, according to a North Aurora Police Department press release. Officers were dispatched at 7:05 a.m. to an apartment building in the 100 block of South River Road (Rt. 25 south of Batavia) for the shooting.

Officers discovered that the shooting took place in one of the apartments and that there were two men with gunshot wounds. The men were conscious and able to exit the building on their own.

The two men were transported to Provena Mercy Medical Center by North Aurora Fire Department ambulances. Their conditions was not available Tuesday evening.

Police also do not know at this time what the motive of the crime may have been.

Shooting Suspects At Large

Officers have learned that there were two suspects. They were both described as Hispanic males about 5’7” to 5’9” tall and weighing about 150-170 lbs.

No clothing description or direction of travel was available. They were armed with at least one handgun, described as a stainless steel semi-automatic handgun.
