No One Hurt in Early-Morning Fire Alarm, Evacuation at Geneva High School

Geneva High School is evacuated around 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, but no one is hurt, there is no fire, and students are returned safely and quickly to classrooms.

An activated fire alarm at around 7 a.m. caused the evacuation of Geneva High School, but there was no fire, and no one was hurt.

School officials sent an email via 304Connects saying that the fire alarm was activated by a smoke alarm that detected some dust from an ongoing maintenance project.

The alarm went off before classes began, although students were in the building for music and other extracurriculars. The building was evacuated for a few minutes, but the school day began on time with everyone safe.
