Multiple Departments Respond to Monday Barn Fire on Route 47

A box alarm calls emergency agencies to a fully-engaged barn fire on Route 47 in Elburn.

A "fully-engaged" barn fire on Route 47 might close or delay traffic on the state route, as agencies throughout the area respond to the box-alarm blaze in Elburn.

The Elburn Fire Department has issued a box alarm, which calls Batavia, Maple Park, Red Cross, West Chicago, St. Charles, Geneva, Kaneville, South Elgin, Courtland, DeKalb and others to 6-N-511 Route 47.

The owner of the barn reported to Tri-Com that there are no people inside, nor is there gasoline or other flammable products.

Fire officials have asked for Kane County's assistance in traffic control for Route 47. It is not known at this time whether Route 47 lanes will be closed.
