Motorcycle Vs. Car, 3-Vehicle Chain Reaction Among Traffic Accidents

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A car and a motorcycle collide on State Street, and three cars collide on Fabyan Parkway. These are among the items pulled from Geneva police reports last week.

Motorcycle–Versus-Car Accident on West State Street

 The front of a Honda Civic driven by Daniel Garcia, 20, of West Chicago collided with the rear of a Harley Davidson FLHX driven by Timothy Coopec, 52, of Batavia around 4:59 p.m. Aug. 24 in the 100 block of West State Street about 30 feet west of McKinley Avenue, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Coopec told police he was in slow-moving traffic heading west in the lefthand lane when his motorcycle was struck in the rear by the Civic driven by Garcia. Coopec turned the motorcycle into a nearby driveway and the Civic left the scene, reports said. Garcia later told police he left because he was late for work.

Garcia was cited for no valid driver’s license and leaving the scene. He has a court date of 9 a.m. Sept. 20. Coopec declined treatment.

Accident on Lillian Court—The rear of a Ford Freestyle driven by Shawn McMorris, 41, of Geneva collided with the front of a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Darlene Santore, 62, of Sycamore around 4:22 p.m. Aug. 24, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. 

Accident on Crissey Avenue (Route 25)—An item from a load carried by a Toyota Sienna driven by Jeffrey Lambert, 39, of Oswego caused more than $1,500 damage to an Audi Quattro driven by Tiziano Bellon, 56, of Geneva. The incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. Aug. 28 in the 1600 block of Crissey Avenue about a quarter-mile north of East Fabyan Parkway. Lambert was issued a warning ticket for "failure to cover load when required."

Accident on Crissey Avenue—The front of a Kia Spectra driven by Bridget Hedberg, 22, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Cadillac Seville driven by Kathy Mulcahy, 59, of North Aurora around 3:47 p.m. Aug. 23 in the 200 block of Crissey Avenue, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on West State Street—The front of a Mercury Marquis driven by Jerry Hurley, 80, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Ford Fusion driven by Aaron Woodard, 32, of Batavia on private property in the 800 block of West State Street, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one behicle.

Three-Car Accident on East Fabyan Parkway—The front of a Honda Accord driven by Casey Ulrich, 16, of Wheaton collided with the rear of a Toyota Yaris driven by Margaet Leyden, 45, of Naperville, which then collided with the rear of a Cadillac SRX driven by Brett Sanders, 54, of Geneva around 11:40 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 1600 block of East Fabyan Parkway about 30 feet east of Kirk Road. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.
