More Than 30 Shopping Carts Stolen From Best Buy

Shopping carts worth $134 apiece and a heavy duty cart dolly are among the stolen items listed in Geneva police reports.

Scrap metal thieves, perhaps?

Geneva police reports include two unusual incidents, the most unusual of which is the blatant theft of as many as 40 shopping carts sometime during an 11-day period. Here's the roundup:

Theft Over $300—Someone took between 30 and 40 metal shopping carts from the parking lot of Best Buy, 1876 S. Randall Road, sometime between May 13 and May 24, reports said. Each cart is valued at $134.36, for a total value of more than $4,974 if 40 cart were taken, report said.

Theft Over $500—Someone stole a Milwaukee Heavy Duty Cart Dolly from the Raymond G. Scott Cancer Clinic construction site at 304 South Randall Road sometime between 2:30 p.m. May 15 and 6 a.m. May 16, reports said. The cart dolly was valued at $600.
