More Cannabis Control Act Violations in Geneva

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Four Geneva traffic stops resulted in marijuana-related arrests, according to reports collected this week from the Geneva Police Department. The stops involved charges filed for marijuana possession and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Here are the reports:

Violation of Cannabis Control Act—Geneva police arrested Tabu Knight, 25, of Palos Hills on charges of cannabis possession less than 2.5 grams and failure to dim headlights around 2:26 a.m. March 24 in the 400 block of West State Street, reports said. According to a complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Knight “knowingly had in his possession (1.5 grams) of a substance containing cannabis.” He has a court date of April 23 at the Kane County Branch Court. His Hyundai Elentra was towed to Duke and Lee’s Service Corporation.

Violation of Cannabis Control Act—Geneva police arrested Timothy R. Spears, 43, of Batavia on charges of cannabis possession greater than 2.5 grams but less than 10 grams, operating a vehicle after the expiration of registration and improper use of registration around 8:22 a.m. March 25 in the 2000 block of Kaneville Road, reports said. Spears has a court date of April 16 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Violation of Cannabis Control Act—Geneva police arrested Stephan Lafleur, 19, of Winfield on charges of cannabis possession less than 2.5 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia around 2:48 a.m. March 24 in the driveway of a residence in the 600 block of North Street, reports said. At the same time and place, police arrested Helen Ramier, 19, of West Chicago on charges of possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lafleur and Ramier have a court date of April 23 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road.

Possession of Drug Equipment—Geneva police arrested James Punis, 41, of St. Charles on charges of possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop at a stop line around 6:50 a.m. March 26 in the 0-99 block of Kane Street, reports said. His Chevrolet Impala was towed to Certified Auto, 2891 Dukane Drive, St. Charles. Punis has a court date of April 16 at the Kane County Branch Court.
