Miscellaneous Mischief: Nice Weather Brings Out Vandals
Police blotter: Spring fever comes in a lot of forms. One of them might be vandalism.
There were a few more vandalism reports in this week's police blotter than there have been in recent weeks.
Perhaps the coming of the warmer weather makes it easier for the mischievous to be outside. Possibly there's a little spring fever involved.
In any case, here are three cases from the reports.

Criminal Damage to Property
Someone smashed eggs and poured baking powder on three vehicles—a Cadillac Esplanade, a Saab 93 and a Chevrolet Malibu—parked in the driveway in the 500 block of Glengarry Drive sometime between 12:15 a.m and 4:39 a.m. April 10, reports said.

A Geneva police officer spotted the damage while on patrol. Checking the area for further acts of vandalism, the officer discovered a fire hydrant had been opened “several houses down the block,” in the 1100 block of Brentwood Place, reports said. The hydrant appeared to have been open for several hours, and the Geneva Fire Department secured the hydrant.
Vandalism
Someone shot a paint ball at an overhead garage door of a house in the 1400 block of Keim Circle sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. April 10, reports said. The pink paint ball hit the middle door of three overhead garage doors.
Criminal Damage to Property
Someone damaged a mailbox, detaching it from the wooden post in front of a home in the 200 block of Larsdotter Lane sometime between midnight and 9:40 a.m. April 9, reports said. Damage to the mailbox was estimated at less than $300.
