Miscellaneous Mischief: From a Child's Water Toy to a Cell Phone Left in a Men's Bathroom

A cell phone, a broken mailbox and a child's water toy—tough losses for the owners, for sure, but wouldn't it be great if this were as bad as crime gets every week?
Criminal Damage to Property Under $300—Someone broke the red mail-pickup flag at a house in the 1400 block of Country Square Drive sometime between 11 p.m. July 30 and 8:15 a.m. July 31, reports said. The owner estimated that it woul cost $109 to replace the mailbox.
Theft Under $500—Someone took a children’s water toy—an inflatable ball that sprays water—from the front yard of a home in the 400 block of West Lane sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Aug. 2, reports said. The toy is valued at $10.

Theft of Mislaid Property—Someone took a Samsung cellular phone that the owner had inadvertently set down in the men’s bathroom at McDonald’s, 1190 E. State St., reports said. The phone was valued at $300, the owner said.
