Miscellaneous Mischief: Copper Pipe Pulled Right Out of Home Under Construction

Wire and a burglary round out the miscellany from the Geneva police reports.

Only two items of miscellaneous mischief from police reports collected last week. The more unusual of the two is the copper-pipe theft, where the thief actually took the time and risk to cut pieces from a home under construction—all for about $120 worth of copper.

Theft Under $500—Someone took several pieces of copper pipe from a home under construction in the 200 block of Wall Street sometime between 4 p.m. Sept. 2 and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 4, reports said. The homeowner said someone cut the sections of pipe from two areas of the building, one upstairs and one on the main level. The estimated value of the copper was $120.

Vehicle Burglary—Someone took an iPod from a Toyota parked in the 1500 block of Fairway Circle sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 31 and 9 a.m. Sept. 1, reports said. The iPod had been stored in the glove box, and no other items were stolen from the vehicle. The estimate value of the iPod is $250.
