Man Accused of Touching Minor Girls in Target Stores

Glen Ellyn resident Nicolas Edward Muniz is being held at the Kane County Correctional Facility and awaits a June 21 court date.

Authorities have filed additional charges against a two minor girls at a St. Charles business.

On May 13, St. Charles officers took Nicolas Edward Muniz of Glen Ellyn into custody and charged him with two counts of battery and two counts of disorderly conduct for inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl at Target, 3885 E. Main St.

On May 15 St. Charles police personnel talked with a new 13-year-old victim who said she too had been inappropriately touched by Muniz in the St. Charles Target Store. The victim told officers that she saw a newspaper article along with the photograph of Muniz and she identified him as being the offender. Warrants and complaints were obtained, and Muniz was booked and processed on the new charges.

Four days later, authorities from Wheaton Police Department arrested Muniz for a similar incident that occurred at the Wheaton Target store on May 12. Wheaton officers turned Muniz over to the St. Charles Police Department.

Muniz was unable to post bail, set at $10,000, and was transported to the Kane County Correctional Facility. His next court date is set for June 21.
