It's Vehicle Burglary Season—Guard Your Garmins

Police reports: 'Tis the season for people to break into your car. So here are two blotter items and a helpful reminder.

A former editor and dear friend of mine once told me he never again wanted to see " 'Tis the season" in any headline, but here's a tongue-in-cheek violation of the rule, in body copy.

'Tis the season for car burglaries. Don't let it happen to you or your neighborhood.

A couple of GPS-related car burglaries probably serve as a nice reminder for all of us to gird our loins and guard our Garmins.

Vehicle Burglary—Someone took a Garmin GPS from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Greenfield Circle sometime between 7:30 p.m. June 16 and 7:20 a.m. June 17, reports said. The GPS had an estimated value of $70.

Vehicle Burglary—Someone took a Garmin GPS from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Colonial Circle sometime between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. June 13, reports said. The unit was valued at around $200.
