Homeless Teenager Charged With Possession of Drug Equipment; Batavian Arrested in Geneva Park

The following information was supplied by local police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Geneva Police Department reports include a number of unusual, cannabis-related items—all three of which were arrests made in unnamed Geneva parks.

Possession of Drug Equipment—Geneva police arrested Zachary Duncan, 18, listed as “homeless” on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, for having in his possession one multicolored pipe and one makeshift pipe crafted out of a hollowed-out pen, reports said. The arrest was made around 9:38 a.m. May 7 in a park somewhere in Geneva. Duncan has a court date of June 18 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Violation of Cannabis Control Act—Geneva police arrested Andrew Zalewa, 23, of Geneva on charges of cannabis possession less than 2.5 grams around 1:40 p.m. May 6 in a park somewhere in Geneva, reports said. Zalewa had in his possession about .1 grams of marijuana, according to the complaint filed in the 16th District Circuit Court. He has a court date of June 11 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Cannabis Possession—Geneva police arrested Jaime Perez, 21, of Batavia on charges of cannabis possession greater than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia around 1:21 p.m. April 30 in an unnamed park in Geneva, reports said. Pereze had about 2.5 grams of marijuana in his possession, according to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court. He has a court date o May 21 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
