Heroin Scourge Continues; St. Charles Man Arrested in North Elmhurst
Phillip Lawson remains in jail on $10,000 bond.

A St. Charles man is in jail on narcotics and other charges after he was pulled over by Elmhurst police early Sunday morning.
Phillip G. Lawson, 33, of 525 S. 12th St., was arrested and charged with theft, burglary and possession of a controlled substance after police pulled over his green GMC Sonoma for traffic violations at York and Crestview at 5:58 a.m. Sept. 8.

Police said Lawson was in possession of a crack pipe, heroin cooker and seven baggies containing heroin residue. Police said there were "numerous" construction tools that were believed to have been stolen inside the truck.
Lawson was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $10,000 bond.
