Head-On Crash Takes Life of Campton Hills Woman
A 64-year-old woman is killed when the car she was driving strikes another vehicle head on.
A Campton Hills resident was killed in a two-car traffic accident Tuesday, June 12.
Lurra Ciabattari, 64, was killed after the car she was driving struck a car driven by a Sycamore man at the intersection of LaFox Road and Grande Monde in Campton Hills, according to a police report.
Witnesses told police the car driven by Ciabattari swerved several times onto the shoulder before crossing the center line, striking the other vehicle head on. Ciabattari was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva and pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Robert Simmons, the driver of the car struck by Ciabattari, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing with the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team assisting the Campton Hills Police Department.
