Grand Theft GameStop: Fair Oaks Video Game Store Robbed at Gunpoint

The GameStop in the Madison Mall shopping center was robbed Sept. 15

In an ironic bit of what could be seen as life imitating video games, a local GameStop was robbed at gunpoint Sept. 15 around 11:32 a.m.

According to a Sacramento County Sheriff's report, a white male, aged somewhere between 30 and 35 entered the 6711 Madison Ave. store and waited until everyone was gone before confronting the front counter clerk.

The suspect then displayed a handgun to the employee, demanding that he hand over money. No merchandise was stolen in the process.

Really? You include a photo of someone AIMING A GUN at a Gamestop?? I must be missing something, because that's unbelievably insensitive. The clerk probably had nightmares last night. I really question your judgement.

Hester, the graphic was meant to depict a video game and not an actual gun. But we agree that it was a poor choice and have removed it from the story. We certainly do not want to cause any additional trauma for anyone who experienced the robbery. Thank you for commenting.
