Geneva Woman Charged with Battery at Rookies

She's accused of yanking the hair of another woman hard enough to cause her to fall backward off her barstool.

A Geneva woman who authorities say yanked another woman’s hair hard enough to cause her to fall backward off her barstool has been banned from the bar and charged with battery.


Lori Caroline Deschryver, 22, of the 39W100 block of Hyde Park, Geneva, was charged at 1:07 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Rookies, 1545 W. Main St.


According to the report, officers were dispatched to a battery in progress and arrived to find several people leaving the bar. Inside, they met the victim, who them the woman police later identified as Deschryver had pulled her hair.

Deschryver told police the victim and she were involved in a verbal altercation when Deschryver pulled her hair, causing the victim to fall from her barstool. The victim and witnesses told police the victim fell off the barstool backward.


Deschryver later posted $150 cash bond and was released pending a Dec. 26, 2013 court appearance. She also was instructed never to return to Rookies, from which she has been banned.
