Geneva Thefts: Someone Takes Girl's iPhone During Garage Sale

A wallet is stolen from a purse at Sunset pool, too.

A mailbox taken right off the post, a 13-year-old girl's iPhone stolen from a garage sale, a Trek mountain bike taken from the train depot and a wallet taken from a purse at Sunset pool round out the theft reports from the Geneva Police Department blotter collected on July 22.

Theft Under $500—Someone took a 13-year-old girl’s white iPhone from a garage sale sometime between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. July 12 in the 600 block of Chandler Lane, reports said. Using the iPhone tracking, police were able to determine that the phone was at an unknown apartment complex in Aurora. The value of the phone was estimated at $100.

Theft Under $500—Someone stole the mailbox from the front yard of a home in the 600 block of Parker Court sometime between 9 p.m. July 12 and 9:15 a.m. July 13, reports said. The anchor stake was bent in such a fashion that it might have indicated the mailbox was pushed back and forth in an effort to remove it from the stake. The value of the black metal mailbox and wooden post was estimated at $100.
