Geneva Police Arrest Elgin Man for Theft of Cash, Merchandise at Randall Road Hollister

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction

Geneva police arrested Joshua Smith, 20, of Elgin on charges of theft over $500 for money and merchandise that was taken over a two-month period from a retail clothing store on Randall Road.

Police said Smith took $560 from the cash register and seven piece of merchandise with a total value of $197.30 from Hollister, 314 Commons Drive, sometime between Aug. 1 and Sept. 28.

Smith was taken into custody around 10:31 a.m. Sept. 29, when he was taken to bond court.
