Geneva Massage Business Settles Lawsuit Filed by Woman Who Was Improperly Touched

A former masseuse pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in a criminal case tied to the 2008 incident. Now, a lawsuit filed by the victim reaches a $22,500 settlement with the business.

Heavenly Massage has settled its part of a lawsuit filed by a woman who accused a former masseuse at the Geneva location of improperly touching her, according to court records.

Heavenly Massage recently agreed to pay $22,500 to Kristi Schwochow in connection to her 2010 suit, while the case remains ongoing against the massage therapist, Michael Tovrea, records state.

Schwochow alleges Tovrea exposed himself and touched her in an uncomfortable manner during a 2008 visit to Heavenly Massage's site in Geneva. Tovrea pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in a criminal case tied to the incident.

In the lawsuit, Schwochow also charged that Heavenly Massage failed to properly screen male massage therapists, according to the suit filed nearly two years ago.
