Geneva Criminal Damage: Slashed Tires, Graffiti, Business Fence

Geneva police report a small amount of criminal damage so far this spring.

There haven't been a lot of criminal damage reports so far this spring—maybe because the weather's been so lousy. If past years are any measure, we can expect these reports to increase as the weather gets nicer and go into a higher gear once school gets out.

Criminal Damage to Property—Someone damaged three tires on two vehicles between 10 p.m. April 20 and 7 a.m. April 21 in the 400 block of Fourth Street, reports said. Damage was estimated at about $210. The front driver’s side tire was damaged on a Buick Rendezvous and two driver’s side tires were damaged on a Ford Taurus. The vehicles were parked unattended in the driveway.

Vandalism—Someone wrote graffiti in black, permanent marker on playground equipment at Elm Park, 419 Elm Ave., sometime prior to 7:33 p.m. April 12, reports said. “The graffiti consisted of several symbols with an unknown meaning,” reports said.
