Geneva Accident Reports September Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here's a roundup of some of the accident reports collected from the Geneva police blotter.

One-Car Accident, Man Falls Asleep At Wheel—The front of a Chevrolet Malubu driven by Donald Murray, 67, of Geneva hit a traffic signal in a median on Crissey Avenue around 4:20 a.m. Sept. 29, reports said. Murray was driving north on Crissey Avenue near South Bennett Street when he fell asleep and his car struck the median and traffic sign. He awoke and parked the Malibu on Crissey Avenue about a block north of the crash. The report indicates an “injury or tow” resulted from the crash.

Accident with Injuries on East Fabyan Parkway—The front of a Nissan Altima driven by Judith Hebert, 60, of Aurora collided with a Suburu Legacy driven by Skyler Helland, 28, of St. Charles around 6:09 a.m. Sept. 27 at the intersection of South Kirk Road and East Fabyan Parkway, reports said. Hebert was taken to Delnor Hospital by Medic 55 and Helland declined treatment. Hebert was issued a warning ticket for failure to yield turning left. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident at East State and Bennett—The front of a Jeep Cherokee driven by Aurelio Martinez, 43, of Aurora collided with the front of a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Yudith Morales-Delgadillo around 3:45 p.m. Sept. 26 at the intersection of East State Street and Bennett Street, reports said. Morales-Delgadillo was arrested for driving without a license or permit and issued a warning notice for failure to yield turning left. She has a court date of Nov. 11, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Kirk Road—The front of a Nissan Pick-Up driven by Nicolas Valadez, 30, of Aurora collided with the rear of a Lexus IS250 driven by Vicki Carroll, 54, of Batavia around 4:05 p.m. Sept. 25 in the 400 block of North Kirk Road about one-tenth of a mile north of Averill Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Valadez was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended or revoked. He has a court date of Nov. 13, reports said.

Accident at South Randall and Kaneville Road—The front of an Oldsmobile 88 Royale driven by Martha Huske, 86, of Geneva collided with the front of a Honda Civic driven by America Whalen, 25, of Elburn around 2:45 p.m. Sept. 25 at the intersection of South Randall Road and Kaneville Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Whalen was taken to Delnor Hospital by Medic 52, and a passenger in Huske’s vehicle was taken to Delnor Hospital in Medic 152. Huske was issued a warning notice for failure to yield turning left.

Accident With Injuries and Tow at North Bennett and East State—The front of a 40-foot Eagle Concrete Ford F-550 driven by Steven Delabar, 52, of Geneva collided with the front of a Jeep Patriot driven by Kelly Goier, 24, of St. Charles around 6:35 a.m. Sept. 21 at the intersection of North Bennett Street and East State Street, reports said. Goier was taken to Delnor Hospital by Geneva Medic 251. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Delabar was charged with making an illegal left turn and has a court date of Oct. 16, reports said.

Accident with Injuries at Crissey and East State Street—The rear of a Kia Sorento driven by Jenifer Campos, 23, of West Chicago collided with the front of a Hyundai Sonata driven by Lisa Garham, 47, of Warrenville around 4:40 p.m. Sept. 20 at the intersection of East State and Crissey Avenue, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Campos was taken to Delnor Hospital by Medic 251 because she has a heart condition and was having a panic attack, according to reports. A tow was necessary after the crash. Campos was charged with driving without a license or permit and failure to yield turning left. She has a court date of Oct. 16.

Accident at Kaneville Road and West State Street—The front of a Buick Lucerne driven by James McNish, 81, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Jeep Cherokee driven by Forrest Fairall, 52, of St. Charles around 310: p.m. Sept. 22 at the intersection of Kaneville Road and West State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on North Kirk Road—The front of a Toyota Scion driven by Robert Coronado, 40, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of a Toyota Avalon driven by Taylor Nisalik, 25, of St. Charles around 7:20 a.m. Sept. 17 on North Kirk Road about 30 feet north of East State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Coronado was issued a warning notice for improper lane usage.

Accident in Geneva Commons Parking Area—The front of a Nissan Sentra driven by Christinam McCafferty, 32, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of a Ford E250 driven by Jeffrey Ingrando, 42, of Everett, MA, around 12:35 p.m. Sept. 16, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Randall Road—The front of a Ford Focus driven by Kevin Rouse, 24, of Yorkville collided with the rear of a Toyota Camry driven by Steven Mitcham, 59, of Geneva around 2 p.m. Sept. 15 in the 300 block of South Randall Road around 20 feet north of Kaneville Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Rouse was issued a warning notice for following too closely. 

Accident on West State Street—The front of a Ford Explorer driven by Michael Fordonski, 50, of Geneva collided with the rear of a parked Ford Escape around 3:14 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 2100 block of West State Street about 500 feet east of Bricher Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident at South Randall Road and Keslinger—A GMC Sierra 2000 driven by James Childress, 47, of Sugar Grove collided with the rear of a Honda Odyssey driven by Ashley Newcomb, 29, of Geneva around 10:12 a.m. Sept. 5 at the intersection of South Randall Road and Keslinger Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident with Injuries on East Fabyan Parkway—The front of a Mercedes truck driven by Debra Fulda, 47, of Naperville collided with the rear of a GMC Savana G350 driven by Daniel Kinch, 32, of Aurora around 8:41 a.m. Sept. 6 in the 800 block of East Fabyan Parkway, reports said. Kinch was taken to Delnor Hospital following the crash. Fulda was issued a warning notice for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident at South Second and Campbell Streets—The front of a Cadillac SRX driven by Robert Langeness, 72, of Geneva, collided with the front of a Toyota Avalon driven by Joan Hull, 56, of Geneva around 10:48 a.m. Sept. 8 at the intersection of South Second Street and Campbell Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Both drivers refused treatment, but the report says an injury or tow was necessary due to the crash. Langeness was issued a warning notice for failure to yield at an intersection. 

Accident with Injuries at South Randall Road and Christina Lane—The front of a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Darren Underway, 19, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Chrysler Town & Country driven by James Cadenhead, 77, of St. Charles around 12:20 p.m. Sept. 10 at the intersection of South Randall Road and Christina Lane, reports said. Cadenhead was taken to Delnor Hospital after the crash, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Underway was issued a warning ticket for following too closely.
