Geneva Accident Reports Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Accidents with bicycles, accidents with injuries, accidents with tows, accidents with drivers age 19 to 89—here's a potpouri of collisions, courtesy of the reports. 

Accident on West State Street—The front of a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Alissa Roy, 24, of St. Charles collided with the rear of a Ford Escape driven by Mitchell Whalen, 32, of South Elgin around 11:26 a.m. Sept. 2 in the 800 block of West State Street, Geneva police reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Roy was issued a warning notice for following too closely.

Accident with Tow at Batavia Avenue and Fargo Boulevard—The passenger’s side of a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Aurora Martinez, 36, of Aurora collided with the front of a Toyota Highlander driven by Dale Newlon, 72, of Batavia around 1:20 p.m. Aug. 30 at the intersection of Batavia Avenue (Route 31) and Fargo Boulevard, Geneva police reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle and a tow was required. Martinez was charged with failure to yield turning left and has a court date of Oct. 9, reports said.

Accident on Bricher Road—The driver’s side of a Dodge Neon driven by Ashley Brooks, 19, of Elmhurst collided with the front of a GMC Envoy driven by Cynthia Kleich, 39, of South Elgin around 4:54 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 2400 block of Bricher Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Brooks was charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and has a court date of Oct. 9. 

Collision with Bicycle at Sixth and Peyton—A Biancha bicycle riden by Benjammin Price, 30, of Chicago collided with the passenger’s side of a Honda Pilot driven by Jean Larson, 50, of Geneva around 9:13 a.m. Aug. 30 at the intersection of Sixth Street and Peyton Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Accident on West State Street—The rear of a Mercury Grand Marquis driven by James Ekberg, 80, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of an Infinity G37 driven by Mark Dlonowski, 54, of Geneva around 7:40 a.m. Sept. 3 in the 600 block of west State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Randall Road—The front of a Buick LeSabre driven by Audrey Gleamza, 89, of St. Charles collided with the rear of a Toyota Camry driven by Jane Martin, 63, of Geneva around 10:55 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 300 block of Randall Road about 300 feet south of Williamsburg Avenue, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident at East State and Simpson Street—The front of a Mitsubishi Galant drive by Jenny Peri, 19, of St. Charles collided with the rear of a Honda CRV driven by Megan Musselman, 25, of Westchester around 1:47 p.m. Aug. 19 at the intersection of East State Street and Simpson Street, Geneva police reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle, and a tow was necessary after the crash. Peri was issued a warning ticket for following too closely. 

Accident with Injury on East Fabyan Parkway—The front of a Nissan Murano driven by Luella Stutzman, 85, of Batavia collided with the rear of a Nissan Versa driven b Aimee Fountain, 20, of Wheaton around 2:35 p.m. Aug. 19 in the 1900 block of East Fabyan Parkway about 75 feet east of Raddant Road, reports said. Batavia medics took both drivers from the scene. Stutzman was issued a warning ticket for following too closely, reports said. 

Accident at Bricher Road and Fisher Drive—The front of a Honda Accord driven by Amanda Boenzi, 22, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of a Chrysler Towne & Country driven by William Kelly, 66, of Geneva around 10:50 p.m. Aug. 22 at the intersection of Bricher Road and Fisher Drive, Geneva police reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Boenzi was issued a warning for failure to yield turning left.

One-Vehicle Accident on South First Street—Geneva police arrested Mitchell Flores, 27, of Geneva for driving without a license or permit and gave him a warning notice for driving too fast for conditions after a one-car crash at around 1:26 a.m. Aug. 21 on South First Street about 200 feet east of South Third Street, reports said. Flores was travelling south in the 600 block of South First Street when his Toyota Corolla struck the curb at the entrance to 610 S. First St. and drove into the grass parkway, reports said. 

Accident on South Randall Road—The front of a Mazda 626 driven by Amanda Finnegan, 21, of Batavia collided with the front of a Mitzubishi Galant driven by Monica Melendez, 23, of West Chicago around 2:11 p.m. Aug. 24 at the intersection of South Randall Road and Gleneagle Drive, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to either vehicle. Finnegan was charged with failure to yield turning left and has a Sept. 18 court date. 

Accident at East Side Drive and Geneva Drive—The rear of a Chevrolet Impala driven by Migena Dennis, 30, of Geneva collided with the front of a Volkswagen Tigan driven by David Bronars, 54, of Geneva around 12:20 p.m,. Aug. 26 at the intersection of East Side Drive and Geneva Drive, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Dennis was issued a warning ticket for failure to yield at a stop intersection.
