Geneva Accident Report Roundup: Month of October

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here's a conrucopia of Geneva accidents collected during the month of October.

Accident on Route 31—The rear of a Ford Explorer driven by Ryan Doherty, 18, of Geneva collided with the passenger’s side of a Toyota Avalon driven by Marilyn Manikas, 71, of West Chicago around 3:10 p.m. Oct. 26 in the 300 block of North First Street about 50 feet north of Ford Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Doherty was issued a warning notice for improper backing.

Accident on East Fabyan Parkway—The front of an Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Ahmet Ferizi, 46, of Wheaton collided with the front of a Toyota Corolla driven by Castimiro Hernandez, 22, of West Chicago around 6:48 a.m. Oct. 29 at the intersection of East Fabyan Parkway and Kingland Drive, Geneva police reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle, and a tow was necessary after the crash. Hernandez was arrested for failure to yield turning left, for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and for having no valid driver’s license. He has a court date of Dec. 4.

Accident on West State Street—A Ford E-350 driven by Nanette Eckley, 48, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of a Volkswagen Jetta driven by Donald Brown, 63, of St. Chalres around 7:15 a.m. Oct. 22 in the 2100 block of West State Street about a 10th of a mile east of Bricher Road, reports said.

Accident on West State Street—The front of a Chevrolet HHR driven by Patricia Knobloch, 75, of North Aurora collided with the driver’s side of a GMC Terrain driven by Steven Musto, 59, of Geneva around 12:45 p.m. Oct. 20 in the 800 block of West State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Knobloch was issued a warning notice for improper lane usage.

Accident on East State Street—The front of a Nissan Sentra driven by James Wolfe, 19, of Lombard collided with the rear of an Acura MDX driven by Horacio Diaz, 39, of Warrenville around 2:35 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 1000 block of East State Street near Longview Drive, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle, and a tow was necessary after the crash. Wolfe was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.

Accident on East State Street—The front of a Chevrolet Suburban driven by William Sticksel, 26, of West Chicago collided with the rear of a Ford Taurus driven by Shanna McCormick, 30, of Geneva around 7:22 p.m.Oct. 18 in the 1100 block of East State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Sticksel was issued a warning notice for following too closely.

Accident on Private Property on Gray Street—The front of a Lincoln LSE driven by Colin Steel, 16, of Geneva collided with the driver’s side of a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Lauren Wyllie, 16, of Geneva around 3:05 p.m. Oct. 16 on private property in the 1400 block of Gray Street near Maple Lane, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Crissey Avenue—The front of a Nissan Altima driven by George Ramiriz, 26, of Willowbrook collided with the rear of a Kia Sportage driven by Mitchell Moritz, 36, of Geneva around 6 p.m. Oct. 13 in the 100 block of Crissey Avenue about 10 feet south of Oak Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle and a tow was needed after the crash.

Accident at West State and South River Lane—The front of a Honda Fit driven by Yvonne Richter, 61, of Geneva collided with the passenger’s side of a Cadillac CTS driven by Andrew Stavrou, 60, of Geneva around 7:35 a.m. Oct. 12 at the intersection of West State Street and South River Lane, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Richter was issued a warning notice for making an improper turn.

Accident at Kaneville and Peck Roads—The front of a Mazda 3 driven by Malki Duque, 27, of Elburn collided with the rear of a Ford Focus driven by Janet Stickney, 53, of Geneva around 4:23 p.m. Oct. 11 at the intersection of Kaneville Road and Peck Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident at North Third and Peyton Street—The passenger’s side of a Honda Civic driven by Raymond Rosinski, 79, of Geneva collided with the front of a Chrysler Town & Country driven by Ann Richards, 65, of Batavia around 11:25 a.m. Oct. 11 at the intersection of North Third Street and Peyton Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Randall Court—The rear of a Subaru Legacy driven by Brendan Gallagher, 18, of Geneva collided with the passenger’s side of a Buick Regal driven by Andrew Navickas, 23, of Lemont around 9:41 a.m. Oct. 6 on private property at 1105 Randall Court about 20 north of Fargo Boulevard, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident at Crissey and Fabyan Parkway—The front of a Saturn Sc2 driven by Emily Cain, 19, of Batavia collided with the driver’s side of a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Terrisa Gibbons, 53, of Montgomery around 7:15 p.m. Oct. 4 at the intersection of Crissey Avenue (Route 25) and Fabyan Parkway, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Cain was issued a warning notice for failure to yield turning left, reports said.

Accident at Williamsburg Avenue and South Randall Road—The front of a Chevrolet Lumina driven by Mary Denrow, 62, of Aurora collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Mary Nutley, 44, of Aurora around 4:41 p.m. Oct. 3 at the intersection of Williamsburg Avenue and South Randall Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on East State Street—The front of a Hyundai Sonata driven by Edward Ramirez, 47, of St. Charles collided with the rear of a Toyota Camry driven by Stephanie Low, 41, of St. Charles around 1:48 p.m. Sept. 28 in the 200 block of East State Street near Crissey Avenue, reports said. Ramirez was issued a warning notice for following too closely.

Accident on South Third Street—The rear of a Ford Windstar driven by Nanci Rago, 51, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Volvo Tractor-Trailer driven by Eugene Crombleholme, 54, of St. Charles around 1:12 p.m. Oct. 2 in the 0-99 block of South Third Street near James Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Rago was issued a warning notice for improper backing, reports said.

Accident on West State Street—The front of a Cadillac STS driven by Joshua Quail, 43, of St. Charles collided with the rear of an Infinity FX50 driven by Thomas Mariani, 46, of St. Charles around 7:27 a.m. Oct. 2 in the 1300 block of West State Street near Lincoln Avenue, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Quail was issued a warning notice for following too closely.

Accident on South Randall Road—The passenger side of a Mitsubishi truck driven by Mark Overbye, 47, of Cary collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by  Kevin Schmidt, 51, of St. Charles around 11:22 a.m. Oct. 2 in the 2100 block of South Randall Road near Gleneagle Drive, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Crissey Avenue—The front of a Honda Civic driven by William Murtaugh, 18, of Batavia collided with the rear of a Mercury Milan driven by Paul Wechter, 74, of Geneva around 4:05 p.m. Oct. 2 on Crissey Avenue about a quarter-mile north of East Fabyan Parkway, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Murtaugh was issued a warning notice for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
