Former Youth Ministry Leader Faces Sex Abuse Charges

Osman Bahadarakhann, a former youth ministry leader at the Community Fellowship Church in West Chicago, is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to prosecutors.

A 23-year-old West Chicago man is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with two underage girl while serving as a youth ministry leader at a local church, according to prosecutors. 

Osman Bahadarakhann, a former youth ministry leader at the Community Fellowship Church in West Chicago, is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to prosecutors. 

Osman, of 1208 Kings Circle in West Chicago, appeared in bond court Wednesday where a DuPage County judge ordered a $300,000 bond for Osman, according to a DuPage County State's Attorney's Office press release.

Bahadarakhann is accused of inviting one of the girls to his apartment where the inappropriate contact allegedly took place and then, several weeks later, inviting another girl to his apartment where prosecutors said the inappropriate contact with the second girl took place. 

The alleged abuse came to light when the girls and their parents contacted the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation conducted by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office and the DuPage County Children’s Center lead to Bahadarakhann's arrest.

Bahadarakhann is next expected in court on May 5.
