A 21-year-old former St. Charles resident has been charged in the murder of Naperville resident 55-year-old Charles Clark.

Grant Muren has been charged with first degree murder and is set to appear in bond court Saturday, Jan. 25. Naperville police have released few details in the case. Earlier this week it was reported that police were investigating a suspicious death on Vail Court in Naperville's Estes Park.

A Craigslist ad placed by Clark 12 days ago sought a roommatefor a townhouse located in the 1100 block of Vail Court.

"Yes the room is for rent, you are invited to come by and take a look and see if it suits your needs," the ad states. "I am a computer technician and very quiet and easy going."

The Chicago Tribune reported that prosecutors said Muren moved in with Clark, became intimate with him, and attacked and killed him in a span of eight hours. The newspaper reported that Muren flooded the house with natural gas and attempted to ignite the gas by placing lease paperwork inside a toaster.

In the Craigslist ad Clark described himself as a computer technician. Angels Computers, a computer repair business, is listed as being located at the same Vail Court address.

The Naperville Sun reported that Muren was listed as having had a St. Charles address. The newspaper reported that an order of protection was filed against Muren a former roommate in July 2013.

A blotter item from St. Charles Patch states that Muren was charged with violation of an order of protection, resisting a peace officer and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.
