Flooding is Coming, To Fox River and Elsewhere
The Chicago version of the National Weather Service has two advisories—one for hazardous weather and another for flooding along the banks of the Fox and elsewhere.
Take a look at some of the raw video that's attached to this story. It starts to give you a feel for how the rushing, roiling Fox River is ready to burst over the banks at some places.
It likely won't be too bad in Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles—at least not as bad as it will be downriver in Montgomery, according to a Flood Advisory and Hazardous Weather Outlook posted by the National Weather Service-Chicago.
The Flood Advisory remains in effect through Thursday for the Fox River at Montgomery. At 2 a.m. Monday, the bankfull stage was 12.5 feet and the river is expected to rise to 12.6 feet by Monday evening.

"River levels may fluctuate rapidly due to ice with little or no warning," the Flood Advisory says. "Residents in low-lying flood-prone areas should remain alert for possible flooding due to ice jams."
The Flood Advisory continues for the Fox River, Kankakee River, Mazon River and Pecatonica River. Portions of the Illinois, Kankakee, Iroquois and Vermilion rivers are forecast to rise above flood stage on Tuesday.
