UPDATE: McDonald's on Geneva's East Side Open Again After Friday Morning Fire

A cooking fire at the restaurant has reportedly extended into the ceiling. Restaurant is now open for business.

The Geneva  is back in business after a morning fire in the kitchen.

Store Manager Omar Daniel said the restaurant was up and running shortly after fire crews arrived shortly before 11 a.m. Friday in response to a cooking blaze at the restaurant at 1190 E. State St.

"We were only closed for—not even 45 minutes," Daniel said.

Daniel said the fire started in one of the fryers and was quickly extinguished. He confirmed that no one was injured.

As of 11:10 a.m., the fire appeared to be under control, as you can see in the attached photos. There was no visible smoke, and firefighters were talking with employees in the rear parking lot.

Daniel said the restuarant was open again by about 11:15 a.m.
