Fine, Supervision for Geneva Mayor in Traffic Case
Burns suffered minor injury in December downtown crash.
This week, Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns did what he said he would: in a minor traffic accident in December.
Burns was to avoid an accident by Geneva police following the downtown crash on Dec. 11. On Tuesday, he agreed to six months court supervision and a $175 fine to resolve the case, court records show.
Burns, who suffered minor injuries and was taken to as a result of the crash, told police he didn't know caused him to collide with the vehicle in front of him, although road conditions at the time were wet.

In an, Burns described himself as a "citizen" and accepted "responsibility" for the incident.
Reached by phone on Friday, Burns said the situation has made him a more careful driver.
