The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Theft reports in the Geneva Police Department blotter this week included the arrest of an Elburn man charged with trying to take gun equipment from the Gander Mountain store on Randall Road.

Geneva police arrested Robert Walters, 22, of Elburn on charges of theft under $500 around 1:23 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Gander Mountain, 2100 South Randall Road, reports said.

According to a complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Walters “obtained unauthorized control over property belonging to” the sporting goods store. Reports said Walters tried to take a Kimber Rimfire target conversion kit and two scope rings sometime between May 7 and June 7, 2013. The property had an estimated value of $399.99, reports said.
