DUI, Drug Arrests Follow Traffic Stops in Geneva and Batavia

Traffic stops in Geneva and Batavia last week resulted in several arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. Here's a roundup gathered Aug. 21 from the Batavia Police Department and Geneva Police Department.
GENEVA
St. Charles Man Charged With Drug Paraphernalia
Geneva police arrested Dennis Morrow, 21, of St. Charles on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended or revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle around 3:42 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 200 block of North Cambridge Drive, reports said. According to a complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Morrow possessed a glass pipe and glass canister grinder. He has a court date of Sept. 18 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles.

Elburn Man Charged With DUI Controlled Substances
Geneva police arrested Richard Steel, 71, of Elburn on charges of driving under the influence of combined substances and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident around 10:19 a.m. Aug. 12 at the intersection of Bricher Road and West State Street, reports said.

BATAVIA
DUI, Reckless Driving
Three drivers were involved in an accident and one was taken to Mercy Hospital after a crash on Raddant Road, according to a report filed at 5:54 p.m. Aug. 19. Andrew Malawski, 20, of Maywood was cited on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He posted $100 and has a court date of Sept. 18.
Possession of Cannabis, DUI
Batavia police cited Justin Lepic, 32, of Aurora on charges of driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more, possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams, speeding, improper lane usage. He posted $100 and has a court date of Sept. 10.
