PHOTO UPDATE: Deck Fire Put Out at 258 Westhaven Circle in Geneva

The Geneva Fire Department responds to a house fire on the far West Side. No one is hurt, and the damage primarily is to the deck at the rear of the home.

The Geneva Fire Department responded around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to report of a deck and possible house-structure fire at 258 Westhaven Circle, near Peck Road on Geneva's far-west side.

No one was hurt, and the Fire Department had the fire extinguished shortly after arrival.

Deputy Fire Chief Mark Einwick said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and it was too early to estimate damage to the home.

The deck fire on Westhaven was close to the west campus of the First Baptist Church, which happened Saturday, June 16, and is . Einwick said he has no reason to think the fires are in any way related.

The house's back yard also abuts property of , but the deck is hundreds of yards from the school, and the fire quickly was extinguished.
