Curious Case of a Damaged Double Stroller in Geneva, Plus Batavia Riverwalk Damage

Here's a roundup of criminal damage in Geneva and Batavia this past week.

The criminal damage in Geneva and Batavia this past week includes an unusual case of someone cutting up a stroller tire, graffiti, $2,000 damage to a car and someone cutting the wires of lights on Batavia's Riverwalk. 

In Geneva

Criminal Damage to Property Under $300—Someone damaged the right front tire of a double jogging stroller sitting in the front porch of a residence in the 400 block of Ford Street sometime between 7 a.m. April 22 and 1:30 p.m. April 23, reports said. The seal on the tire had been broken and part of the tire had been removed from the rim, reports said. The victim was not sure whether she could have the wheel repaired or replaced but estimated the cost of the stroller at $100.

Vandalism—Someone painted graffiti on the bridge supports and abutments of the Crissey Avenue bridge over the Union Pacific railroad tracks sometime prior to April 26, reports said. No estimate of the cost to remove the graffiti was available at the time of the report.

In Batavia

Criminal Damage to Property—Someone splattered paint on the passenger side of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Wilson Street. The report was made at 12:22 p.m. April 27. The estimated cost to repair the damage was $2,000.

Criminal Damage to Property—A Batavia Park District employee reported that someone cut the wires to one of the bronze fountain lights in the riverwalk fountain. The report was made at 11:17 a.m. April 26 at the Batavia Police Department, 100 N. Island, and may be related to a previous incident, reports said.
