Criminal Damage to Property Reports Include 1 Arrest, Damage to Church

The following information was supplied by the Batavia and Geneva police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Geneva


Criminal Damage to Vehicle—Someone keyed the driver’s side of a vehicle parked in a municipal lot at the southwest corner of North Second Street and Hamilton Street sometime between 8:30 p.m. May 31 and 1:30 a.m. June 1, Geneva police reports said.  The vehicle owner told police he did not have any issues with anyone and was  unaware of having made anyone angry with him.

Criminal Damage to Property Under $300—Someone damaged the window on a gazebo in the back yard of a home in the 800 block of Sterling Avenue sometime between 9 p.m. May 19 and 4 p.m. May 20, Geneva police reports said. A hole in the window appeared to be caused by a small projectile, reports said. The homeowner estimated the damage at around $200.

Criminal Damage to Church—Batavia police arrested Brennan D. Walls, 22, of Batavia on charges of criminal damage to property at the First Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Ave.,  around 2:16 a.m. June 2, Batavia police reports said. Walls has a court date of July 9.

Vehicle Damage—Someone put a dent and scratches on the driver’s side door of a vehicle parked in the Target parking lot at 115 N. Randall Road, according to the Batavia Police Department daily report synopsis of June 1, generally for incidents that occurred on May 31.  About $500 of damage was done to the vehicle. 

Store Damaged—Batavia police reported May 25 that criminal damage to property took place at Special Occasions, 2 N. Batavia Ave. The report was filed around 1:44 p.m., and was incomplete.

$3,000 Worth of Damage to Shed—Someone damaged a shed in the 600 block of Madison Street sometime prior to 9:45 a.m. May 21 Batavia police reports said. The cost to replace the shed was estimated at $3,000.
