Planter Taken From in 'Vintage' Store
Someone took a decorative planter and plant from Color Me Vintage, 109 W. State St., sometime between 5 p.m. Oct. 3 and 11 a.m. Oct. 4, reports said. The planter and plant were valued at $55.
Brick Thrown Through Picture Window
Someone apparently threw a brick through the window of a foreclosed residence in the 700 block of Oak Street sometime between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 5, reports said. A real estate agent for Royana Realty told police she found the window broken when she went to check on the property, and police found brick lying on the ground in front of the picture window. The cost to repair the window was estimated at $750.
Someone scratched a black 2011 Chevrolet Equinox parked in the 300 block of South Randall Road sometime between 11 p.m. Oct. 7 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 8, reports said. The estimated cost to repair the damage was $400.
Sign Painted at Newly Renamed Coultrap
Someone painted a brick sign in front of the Geneva School District 304 office at 227 N. Fourth Street around 10:20 p.m. Oct. 8, reports said. Maintenance personnel were able to clean the spray paint off the bricks, reports said.
Balloons Go With Spray Paint
Someone spray painted the northeast corner of a home in the 700 block of Edison Street sometime between 10 p.m. Sept. 25 and 8 a.m. Sept. 26, reports said. Someone also left numerous small balloons on the ground near the vandalism. The officer was able to wipe some of the paint off with his hand and suggested the owner try washing off the paint.
