Chicago Woman Cited for Home Goods Retail Theft on Her Birthday

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Chicago woman accused of taking bath soap from a Randall Road store on her birthday was cited for theft under local ordinance rather than arrested on charges of retail theft, reports indicate.

Geneva police cited Theresa Han, 49, of Chicago for theft under local ordinance for allegedly taking miscellaneous items of bath soap and towels from Home Goods, 706 Commons Drive, around 4:47 p.m. July 17—which also is listed in police reports as Han’s birthday.

he value of the miscellaneous items was $97.88.

Under local ordinance, the citation carries a fine of $50 if paid by its due date.
