Car Windows Broken; GPS Stolen in Separate Case

Police reports: Two car-related incidents in the blotter.

Geneva police always are saying to keep your car in your garage and make sure you lock the doors of your vehicles. Oh, and don't put that Garmin GPS in a place where car burglars can see it; take it in the house at night.

Obviously, the property damage case is something hard to defend, but the GPS is one of those crimes you can avoid.

Here are two car-realted incidents from the police reports.

Criminal Damage to Property, Over $500—Someone broke the left side window of a Ford Ranger pickup truck parked in the street and the rear window of a Chevrolet Trailblazer parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1100 block of Appleton Lane sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. June 3, reports said. The owner estimated the damage to replace the windows of both vehicles at $1,000.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle—Someone took a Garmin GPS from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Fargo Boulevard sometime between 10 p.m. May 20 and 7 a.m. May 21, reports said. The GPS was valued at $100.
