Cannabis Tales: Halloween Ruckus at McDonald's Drive-Through Leads to Delivery Charge

Batavia police reports this week included three arrests on charges of possession of more than 10 grams of marijuana. One of the charges was for more than 30 grams and another included charges of delivery.

Beer-Throwing at McDonald's Leads to Cannabis Charges

Batavia police arrested Austin Bellm, 25, of Batavia, on charges of delivery of more than 10 grams and less than 30 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at McDonald’s, 125 W. Wilson St., according to a report at 9:45 p.m. Oct. 31. According to reports, Bellm was in the drive-through of McDonald’s drinking beer, yelling at employees and dumping beer out the window. “Arrestee is on parole at time of arrest,” reports said. He was transported to the Kane County Jail for morning bond call.

More Than 30 Grams of Marijuana

Batavia police arrested Juan Carlos Marin, 24, of West Chicago on charges of delivery of more than 30 and less than 500 grams of cannabis, possession of cannabis greater than 30 and less than 500 grams and improper lane usage in the 600 block of North Batavia Avenue, according to a report filed at 1:51 a.m. Oct. 30. The field weight of the cannabis was set at 32 grams. Marin was transported to Kane County Jail for bond call.

Routine Stop Results in Arrest

According to a report at 11:27 p.m. Nov. 2, police made a routine traffic stop in the 100 block of Houston Street and found that the driver, a male juvenile from Batavia, had in his possession a smoking pipe and small amount of cannabis. The items were confiscated and the subject’s parents were contacted. He was charge with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis.

Juvenile Charged With Possession of More than 10 Grams

 

According to a report filed at 11:44 a.m. Oct. 31, a 17-year-old juvenile suspect was arrested in the 1200 block of Main Street on charges of possession of cannabis more than 10 grams but less than 32 grams. Reports do not name the suspect.
