Cannabis Tales: Defective Muffler, Traffic Stop Lead to Arrests

The following information was supplied by Geneva and Batavia police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two cannabis tales, one each from the Geneva and Batavia blotters, were reported last week.

2 Wheaton Residents Charged

Geneva police arrested Alex Furrah, 18, of Wheaton on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and Macdaniel Sullivan, 18, of Wheaton on charges of possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams around 12:48 a.m. Jan. 3 in the 1200 block of East State Street, reports said.

Darn That Defective Muffler

During a traffic stop at Hubbard and Kirk, police determined that the Aurora driver of the vehicle had on his person a small smoking pipe that he voluntarily turned over to police. The subject was issued a warning notice for a defective muffler and was released without charges on the possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report at 4:47 p.m. Jan. 11.
