Cannabis Tales: Arrests Made in Skate Park, Traffic Stops

The following information was supplied by the Batavia and Geneva police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a roundup of marijuana-related incidents filed in Batavia and Geneva police reports between Aug. 5 and Aug. 12, 2013.

Geneva 19-Year-Old Charged

Geneva police arrested Ryan Willing, 19, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor around 1:17 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 1700 block of West State Street, reports said. He has a court date of Sept. 17 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Cannabis Arrest in Batavia Skate Park

Batavia police made an arrest for cannabis possession of less than 31 grams around 6:44 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Batavia Skate Park, reports said. However, the report was incomplete and no further information was given.

Possession of Controlled Substance Charges

Batavia police arrested Nicholas Hopp, 19, of Aurora on charges of possession f a controlled substance CF, possession of cannabis more than 2.5 but not more than 10 grams, improper lighting (headlamp) around 1:15 a.m. in the 200 block of East Wilson Street, reports said. He was transported to Kane County Jail and had a bond call.
